Fairlawn, OH, February 25, 2010 (NYSE: OMN) – Product specifications for all OMNOVA Solutions commercial wallcovering brands are available on the Company’s website in the Construction Specifications Institute’s (CSI) MasterFormat™, the most widely used system in North America for organizing construction project manual. The MasterFormat system organizes construction information into procurement and contracting requirements, as well as technical divisions of activities and work practices. This information is conveyed through forms that, for OMNOVA wallcoverings, include specifications for product construction, test ratings, standard measurements, warranty terms, specifier notes and much more. The tools also provide information on how building materials can contribute to earning credits under the U.S. Green Building Councils’ LEED® program.
OMNOVA has made this information available to aid architects and designers who specify the Company’s commercial wallcovering products as they progress from development to proposal and, ultimately, through project completion. CSI specifications for OMNOVA’s wallcovering products are listed at www.omnova.com/wallcovering_specs and provided in PDF and Word document formats. OMNOVA’s Bolta®, Essex™, Genon® and Tower® wallcoverings are all included, featuring the Company’s revolutionary RECORE™ Recycled Wall Technology, as well as its Avant™ and Scion™ wallcoverings, featuring the ECORE™ Advanced Wall Technology platform.
Products utilizing either of the RECORE or ECORE platforms can be used for both new construction (LEED-NC) and commercial interior (LEED-CI) projects, contributing up to six LEED credits under the Materials & Resources and Indoor Environmental Quality categories. RECORE products include an average of 30% recycled content, including a minimum of 20% post-consumer content as certified by Scientific Certification Systems, a global leader in independent certification of environmental product claims, and they are certified for low VOC emissions by the Greenguard Environmental Institute. ECORE is an eco-preferred, non-PVC wallcovering platform and has earned the prestigious GREENGUARD Children & SchoolsSM Certification for its very low VOC emissions. MasterFormat is a master list of numbers and titles classified by work results or construction practices, primarily used to organize project manuals, organize detailed cost information and relate drawing notations to specifications.
